Thanks for the info, Smoz. :)

Probably best to check first, (I did say from memory and my memory isn't great) however I don't remember any steps or narrow doors.

Cheers, Smoz, I will. I'm sure there'll be somewhere it's possible to get in. 8)

Brixton

Post Sun Dec 03, 2006 11:02 pm

We are going to see the Pogues - best band ever - on December 18th and we will stay nearby rather than go home the same night because we are about a three hour drive away. We have never been to Brixton - does anyone know much about the area, especially at night after the gig and if there are any good pubs to go to before the gig? I've hear the academy is a great venue and can't wait to see the band.

Before the gig you're fine. I don't drink in Brixton but there are plenty pubs there.

After the gig, well Brixton used to be a bit ofa red light district at night, it's cleaned up it's act a bit since but watch yourself still. If you're just lookin for pubs to hit then you should still be fine just take a look at where others are going and follow suit.

If anyone meets the sad littel hunt sab and his big skinhead mate who were there at Brixton in 2005 tell them from me they are still brain dead idiots and I hope they get whacked with a horses hoof.

Thanks for your post Pantalone - I think well be ok our daughter and friend are also going - they are at Uni near London but they don't know Brixton either but at least they are more used to going to gigs than we are - our last big gig was Bob Dylan at Wembly about 25 years ago! Counting the days now 'till Brixton!

Anybody going to be in London on Saturday, the 16th?

Post Wed Dec 06, 2006 2:50 pm

My best friend and I are going to the 18DEC show, but we're flying into London from Chicago on Friday, the 15th.

I was wondering if anybody else is going to be in town or would want to meet up. We're staying at the Regent Palace in Piccadilly, FWIW.

me and patrizio we will leave from bergamo - milano in
the morning on 17th and we'll go back at 6:30 am of the
18th (stansted)

So i guess we'll have a lot of time to spend after the show
until the departure time.
Where all you guys go after the concert?
