Can anyone suggest a pub to meet in near the Arena? My only idea atm is The Turf Tavern ..... but not sure how close it is to the venue :D

Pub

Post Wed Dec 13, 2006 6:02 pm

Depends what you want, but if you want a proper pub go in Bunkers Hill right next to the Arena, but on the opposite side to the main entrance.

Nottingham gig - anyone going early for the Saw Doctors?

Post Wed Dec 13, 2006 7:22 pm

I must confess that this will be my first Pogues gig and can't wait for it! But I have seen the Saw Doctors a couple of times and they are magic after a few beers - great songs and good musicians and lots of fun. I'm worried it might be a bit "flat" with them as a support in a big venue that hasn't filled up. Only seen them at Rock City in Nottingham before now which is a small dive where your feet stick to the grotty carpet as you walk (other people will back me up on this I think), but has a great atmosphere.

Is anyone else going to bother seeing them?

I'll be in to see them if i get there in time. Travelling down from Bradford so traffic permitting, I will in in to catch at least some of the set. I enjoyed them a couple of years ago.
