Please tell me that the Glasgow gigs (surely got to be more than 1!) will be on Thursday 14 & Friday 15 December? Oh, the Barrowlands would be perfect by the way! Please not the SECC. The Point ain't the best, but nothing compared to the SECC.
The last few gigs up here were all midweeks, so it would be nice to get a weekend-ish gig or 2!
My heart is racing already!!!

So they'll be playing 2 gigs at the Academy in Glasgow. Where's that exactly? I'm from Holland but I'm going to be in Glasgow the weekend after and I'm considering changing my flights to see them play.
And where (and from what time) can I buy tickets online? Do you expect them to sell out fast? This Thursday I won't have internet access until early afternoon. Will that be too late?
I hope you can help this newby

The tickets won't sell out that fast, don't worry.

Thanks for that. No more stress then
But where can I buy tickets online? Is it ticketmaster or seetickets or somewhere else all together?

Is this the venue they'll be playing ?

They use ticketweb apparently. It's really confusing for me where to buy tickets in the UK. Do they all sell the same tickets or do venues/bands choose for ticketmaster or one of the others?

Correct venue. Bought my ticket from ticketweb last year and got it after about a week.

Well, I never found the presale but I did manage to buy a ticket for the Monday night and it should even be delivered to Holland. So thanks a lot for all your help!

The Glasgow gig is absolutely magical, I was there last christmas and its simply a wonderful night. The academy is a great venue, basically the same as the barrowlands but with a seating area upstairs. My advice, if you want the full monty buy a downstairs ticket and large it.

Glasgow is indeed awesome, which is why folk come from LA, sweden, Norway, Germany, you name it... about half way through every Glasgow show the band have to stop playing so's the crowd can sing to them a Celtic anthem and it just happens organically and spontaneously... I'm right aren't I?????????
Heres a problem, I keep drinking and I cant afford to go to any gigs... Cant afford a ticket for the Fratellis @ Barrowlands next month and I havent even got my ticket for Glasgow yet and this year its on my 31st birthday, AGGGGHHH... yet further complication arises if I get to the gig s(which I will) when I will have to zone in on all the non-drinking Pogues (and try and gather some courage and inspiration off them) rather than gaze in wonder at Mac as usual... but he's always smiling at me you see!!! I know how honoured and lucky I am!!!!!!!!

I do think there is a great atmosphere at the Glasgow gigs, and the venue is nice enough looking. But the sound in that place is absolutely terrible, I've been to about 10 gigs in that place and not once have I actually been able to hear separate instruments and vocals! It's not a patch on the Barrowlands!

Rhiannon,
As you know it will be my first time at Glasgow and as it is your birthday it will be even more special. You WILL get a ticket for the gig one way or another.
