Well, I was at the second show in Tokyo on Friday with a typhoon blowing on past outside.

They put on a great show, and Shane was in fine form. Looking better than he has in many a long year.

There was definetely a bit of needle between Shane and Spider though. Spider is getting married in the US next week.

How we can get on the "fan-list", which is present before "thousands are sailing"?! Can anybody help?

Sorry pal, I don't do it these days. It was just meant as a once-off surprise for the people who had travelled long distances to see us. If it ever became a permanent ritual, it would have no real worth. But I still sometimes use the time to bestow special graces, as when I declared Martin McDonagh "dear old Times Square's favourite bard" in March while he was in the audience. 8)

Pogues -- Break a leg, guys!

Everyone who's going tonight -- Remember to eat a good lunch and dinner, do crazy funny things, and write about it here later. :)

Travelling

Post Tue Oct 10, 2006 2:23 am

I saw the Pogues in March in Boston, now I'm travelling to Vegas to see them this Sunday. I can't wait. Who else is taking a long journey just to see these guys perform?

I'm not travelling far, but I am finally getting to see them for the first time on the 20th in Los Angeles. :D
I missed them the last time they played (with Shane), and also when they played in support of Pogue Mahone...so its an even bigger thrill for me! Ive been a fan for damn near 20 years, and it feels GOOD to finally see them live.

Now if only I could meet them, shake their hands, and tell them all thanks...

(This was post #1 for me too, by the way. Glad to be here!)

I travelled from Tallahassee Florida to see them at the Nokia Theater, now we're taking a group of die hard fans from Tallahassee to Vegas to see them Sunday. Very, Very stoked are we.

Fillmore Monday night

Post Wed Oct 11, 2006 7:30 pm

The show was great-about 2 hours. Shane's singing voice was great, but his between song banter was completely unintelligible. I have the drink tray Spider uses for percussion on his head and am searching for a suitable display in my house. The band sounded great and the crowd was aged but enthusiastic..

You know, it might sound terrible, but that is one thing that Im looking forward to. Given the cost of the tickets, I sense that the crowd will be a bit on the older/mature side. And thats just fine, because I want enthusiasm, not a bunch of kids that cant control themselves (please excuse the cynicism, its just that the past few shows Ive been to were almost ruined by kids who got too drunk, and didnt know how to control themselves).

I'm getting more excited with every passing day!
