"Always?"

Let's play a quick little game here. We'll call it "How Many Time Have The Pogues Played Japan Since 1990?"

Hmm. Let's see if we can figure this out.

o September of 1990, when they ended up having to fire Shane MacGowan
o Hmm. Lessee... The next one is... July of 2005, and then
o Umm. September of 2006

Yet. Definitely "always."

Tickets from Sydney to LA aren't horribly expensive. Probably decent from Syd to Japan as well then.
Australian plane tickets are cheaper than Americans flying to other parts of America!!!

Is there any possible chance that whilst you are playing in Japan that you could head to Australia for some gigs.

Um, frankly no. We're already doing a Continent-hop to get to San Francisco, with just one day to reacclimatize.

Phil,
You've just broken my heart. Its been fifteen years since you last toured our sunny shores  Why do you always seem to play in Japan, while we
seem to miss out.....especially when Japan is not that far away?? You know that your previous gigs here have been fantastic....and we'd love at least one more chance to see the band live. Who knows you may never tour again.

Please don't take it personally. We'd love to play Australia, but life's so rarely what you want it to be when you want it to be, is it?

They hardly ever leave the country. For occasional X-mas or USA tour maybe...

Sorry about the "always" statement.....but compared to coming to Australia, always seems the best way for me to let out my frustrations. 8)

Well, maybe others wont agree with this, but for a long term shot we could try to lobby promoters to get them here for big day out 2007. I would love to see Pogues play a festival. And of course, to make it economically viable, there could be the sideshows. Any chance do you think?

Make it an unlimited supply of Red Bull, and some serious shopping for tasty threads and natty shoes in Melbourne, and we may be able to tempt him.
