A Thank You to the Pogues

Post Mon Mar 20, 2006 5:14 pm

Just before you all go your seperate ways, I'd just like to offer a sincere thanks for doing this tour. I hope it is not the last, but if it turns out that way, I saw Pogues 2 more times than I ever thought I would. Thank you for that.

A lot of times bands do this sort of thing and go through the motions, but your enthusiasm for the material was obvious. I was especially happy to see the shows on both nights with people who had never seen you before, and that was fully half the thrill.

I'll keep en eye on the sight for future news, and to see what each of you are up to individually. Also, thanks especially to the members who take time to get involved on the sight personally, Philip, Spider & James. From a fan's point of view, that can be rare.

Have a safe trip home, and hopefully, we'll see you all again.
Did the old songs taunt or cheer you, and did they still make you cry?

Well said. I flew out to Boston from Detroit to catch the Wednesday show with a friend of mine and we had a great time. I was a bit worried that my high expectations might not be met (or even be reasonable), but all concerns were melted away even before 'Streams of Whiskey' had finished.

Thank you, guys. I hope to be able to see you again, but if it is not to happen then I'll at least be left with the memory of a great show.

An extra 'thank you' to the Boston folks. You were a classy bunch both at the Pogues' show and when I went to see The Saw Doctors the next night.

Yes - here, here. 4 wonderful nights in NY - I can't even remember the last time I had that kind of escape. Thank you.

Also, once again, thanks to sevendaymile for the extra ticket for my pal - nice to meet you.

I heard so many people say over and over again, "I never thought I'd get to see the Pogues", I myself was one of those people. This was the concert of my dreams! You guys rocked and it was everything I hoped it would be. Thanks so much for the tour, I hope it isn't the last but if it is I am so grateful I got to be there!

I was at the Nokia this past Saturday (drove all the way from DC - since the 930 sold out so fast), and I witnessed what was one of the best performances by any band I've seen.

Thanks for coming to the US, and I'll definately see you again if you decide to return. If not, then I'm more than glad to have caught you this time.

Thank you Pogues, seeing you perform was amazing, a concert I had always hoped for. On the train into the city on Friday I thought "holy shit, i'm finally getting to see the Pogues." It was magical, and it was brilliant, and easily the best show I've ever seen (both for oustanding performance quality and pure sentimental value). Again, thank you, and I'm looking forward to the next time.
