I liked that electric guitar you were using for part of the set. It looked like a Gibson ES-335. Well, I hope you all have a nice rest in the next month. A job beyond well done!!! Fuckin' brilliant as they say.

It's a Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman, the guitar that thinks it's a 335 but will always be downer and dirtier.

No rest for the wicked - I've got a Radiators album to finish in Co Westmeath, Ireland.

Any guitar that is dirty sounding is ok in my opinion.

Do you think The Radiators will go into the studio and slam the tunes out on tape garage rock style or do you plan to get a bit more George Martin with the production? I suppose both methods are good.

We work fast on the backing tracks and aim for 100% live-in-the-studio performances. The overdubs and vocals, by contrast, we take time over.

Excellent. Well, have fun with the recording and I am sure that it will be a very exciting and creative experience. I'll be looking forward to when the CD is released.

Now I want to see The Radiators live.

Yeah, the Pogues show I saw was great - my first time seeing them and hopefully not the last...

On a side note, there is another band called the Radiators in the US - they play cajun/jam music - do people get you guys mixed up when you play gigs? Are you planning on doing a tour? Thanks!

Thank you so much Philip and all of your mates - you've made so many people happy! The show was beyond anything I had ever expected. Hey, this man can dance - never mind dancing with Shane on Fairytale, my new dream is to twist and spin with Mr. Chevron!! :D

Who's Going Tonite (Last Show)?

Post Sun Mar 19, 2006 6:57 pm

Speaking of Radiators, Phil, did you play that classical riff in the beginning of Under Clery's Clock? It's fantastic. BTW I sometimes use that riff during my soundchecks on either cittern or mandolin and sometimes I actually try it on tin whistle. I hope you don't mind. It's almost like a piece you would hear from Bach or Mozart. Or any of those German Guys. Brilliant!

I'll see you all tonite - I'll be in front, I hope. I'm not as young as I used to be when you guys played during the late eighties, so I may find it a little tough. I caught the Saw Doctors at Irving Plaza, NYC a couple weeks ago and I couldn't make my way to the front and they were a mello crowd in comparison. So I may be back a little.

I'm getting too soft.

Who else is going Tonite? Let me know! I'll probably me in my Green & gold CELTIC IRELAND football jersey with a Celtic High-Cross printed on front and sleeves.

I shamelessly stole it from my own rejected L'Amoria from the Straight To Hell music, little suspecting that it would actually be released after all in 2004.

THANKS!!

Post Mon Mar 20, 2006 6:44 am

I just got home from the Pogues show tonight, and all I can say is WOW and THANKS to the band for putting on an amazing show...The Pogues were one of two bands on my "to see" list that I thought I'd never get to cross out...the other being The Clash...

I was truly amazed, felt like a little kid. Shane was so much better than when I saw him with the Popes in 2000...He seemed totally into it, and happy..and the whole band was simply top-notch...Philip's rendition of "Thousands.." was awesome.

Also, Kudos to the Nokia Theatre for selling Guiness...hadn't seen it there before, i guess they knew it would be a big seller for these shows. I'm going there again next week to see The Cult, hopefully some of the black stuff will be left over :)

Had the extreme pleasure of being able to see one show in Boston and the first in NY. What a fabulous time. Haven't had that much fun in years. A huge thanks to the band for allowing us to see thegreatest show on earth once again.

I'd like to express the same sentiments regarding the first Boston show! Total euphoria. I remember windering to myself whether anything else could ever be important again...I know it sounds corney, but, you know. If only the cab-ride accident on the way back to the hotel immediately after the show hadn't overshadowed the experience of the show itself.

You know how you have a dream, and you know you had a dream, but you can't quite remember the details? That's kinda how the concert is to me now. I know I was there, I know I enjoyed it, but that's about it. The accident and the emergency room I remember like the back of my hand :( In a way, the trip to Boston was a complete waste!
