Will there be a DVD of this Tour?

Post Thu Mar 16, 2006 4:43 pm

I was wondering if anyone (Mr. Chevron maybe) has heard anything about any of these U.S. shows being put on a DVD considering this is their first U.S. tour in so many years. I didn't see any camera crew at the first 9:30 show, but there may have been at some other shows- maybe even New York coming up. I would buy if if it were put out...with the Pogues stamp of approval of course!

I was down in front on the 9th and yes, there was a lady with a big video camera.

Cool! I would love to have a DVD documenting the shows. Or better yet, have a mix of all the venues they played- a few songs from each city. I'm getting ahead of myself, the tour isn't even over! Have fun New York!

I believe the woman's name is Nora, and when I saw her outside the 9:30, she had a Pogues access pass pinned to her clothes, rather than a press pass. That's not a lotta information on which to go, but it seems like that'd be consistent with her filming for the band -- but I dunno whether it means that what she filmed is going to be made available on a DVD.

Well, there may be other footage being shot, as you say, and I remember HBO was trying to get hold of Pogues management ..... several megabytes ago. So, now I must go back to investigate the threads where this was discussed back near Christmas, where Philip mentioned the film crew by name and compare it to what we saw. See what you have done?!

Good man! Thanks. Great minds... So, either Carol looked back and assumed the lady with the camera's name was Nora, or she actually saw/asked her. Which one is it Carol. If you can confirm a true Nora spotting at the 9:30 Club, we have the answer to our question and can expect to see a movie with both UK, Ireland, and American footage.

THanks for all the info! This site isn't only a place to socialize, but it is like a library. A Pogues movie, wow, that would be a great. Wouldn't it even be cooler to be a part of it!

Cheers!!!

Her name is Nora.

It seems that she secured passes for an early-arriving couple who didn't have any tickets. I never got that couple's names and don't know whether either or both of 'em are registered on this site, but I know that they were plenty excited and thankful. When they learned that they'd be able to get in, they enthusiastically reported to me that Nora had put them on the guest list... Which is how I discovered her name.

At the end, as my friend Corey tried to score a set list, I did notice a lady on the stage with a digital video camera. I hid myself from the camera, so unfortunately you will all be deprived of seeing me. SASE's will get an autographed photo by me of someone who may or may not be me. If your life is truly that barren to want one.
