20 hours from right now.....

Post Fri Mar 10, 2006 7:22 am

I will be seeing The Pogues at 9:30 club. I sometimes see that people report the set list and such and I am always amazed that one can remember such details. Do you write it down? Are you sober?? I am going to atempt to report any such infromation, to the best of my excited, tend to overdrink when especially looking forward to something, memory. Actually had the pleasure of seeing The Hellacopters (One of, if not the best rock n roll band in the world) tonight in Baltimore, took off work tomorrow and I am going down to DC for Pogues tomorrow evening. When it rains it pours! I wonder, can I take my ditigal camera, take pictures and post them to this site? I don't want to get my camera confiscated......never know whats cool or not. Ok then.... heres hoping for a cooperative Shane, no traffic, a good view and a REALLY long set!

Cell phone cameras are fine. Also, they had signs up saying no professional photo or recording devices, or something like that, posted outside the club. I saw at least one small digital camera in the crowd. I think I remember one being used in video mode. I also saw professional video people at work in teh second half of the show. They are part of an official Pogues DVD effort in the works (see elsewhere on this forum). Philip Chevron has come on this site once or twice and clarified what the band allows and what they do not. This may at times be different from what the venue allows. Anyway, go look on the 9:30 Club web site in teh FAQ section. I think the answer to your camera question is there. But be prepared for little, to no elbow room.

I am not going to chance the camera and my cel phone does not work to well in clubs, I have tried it multiple times. 9:30 runs such a Nazi camp I am quite sure no cameras allowed. One time at a Bob Dylan concert they even had me take off my Leopard beret to make sure I had nothing under my hat! I have to say your little to no elbow room comment does not sound so appealing but what did I think, I'd have the club to myself! Was there an opening band? If not then I will go early and stake a claim on a spot so I am not stuck upstairs with no view what so ever as has been the case on numerous occasions. Ok I will stop whining now! I am really looking forward to it. One time I went to see Shane at 9:30 and a drunk skinhead, already sporting a bloody nose came over and started a fight with my then boyfriend which got all three of us kicked out, my self literally dragged out by my ankles and wrists! Of course during Dirty old Town! A proud moment indeed! So I am not making any eye contact with any skinheads with bloody noses tonight!
