Time after Time: A travelpogue

I'm delighted to announce that kmurray105 has sent in his preamble for his (and Kirsten's) upcoming show-going experiences. Read and enjoy here.

That was great DzM - Lookin' forward to more...
On a side note, I am not aware of an equivalent name for “Dead Head” for Pogues fans

As someone elses sig says - I'm not a great linguist, níl ach beagáinín Gaeilge agam, ach..... if Pogue = Kiss, then Kissers (a putative collective plural thingy term for fans of 'The KissES') would be something like...
Pógaitheoirí... or something. I am totally winging it there... but I like the sound. A singular fan (and, let's face it, aren't we ALL 'singular' fans) would thus be a Pógaitheoir, or in the Anglish parlance, something that sounds remarkably like a Poguey Whore. See, it all fits....

Well done K. Maybe there could be a fans picture of two troubled Travelpoguers, diligently scribbling notes on beer soaked napkins. To make it official, empty smoke pack turned inside out with "Press" written on it with crayon, scotch-taped to attire.

How about Pogues Rogues for a collective term?

My wife and I have tickets for Sunday night's NY show, we are coming over from London so I guess that we would qualify.

Nice. Just to hang out in the city & see The Pogues is well worth it. My & mine will be at that show as well. See you at Connolly's before the show hopefully.

I kind of like that one. I've already submitted the 3/9 update but I think I'll use it in the next post until there is an official decree of the name. Thanks!

I will try and make it to Connolly's for a pre-show glass or two as long as I can drag Mrs Smoz away from the shops :)

DzM & kmurray105-

Thanks! I love what you wrote about seeing them band play the first US show in the 21st Century! I knew that already, but reading it made me stop and go, yeah, I did see the Pogues first US show in the 21st Century.

I look forward to more!
Cheers,

And shockingly it took me only a tiny TWO WHOLE WEEKS to post it. My how the time flies.

Everyone, please feast your story loving eyes on kmurray105's adventures in Washington D.C.! Learn of his cocoon embrace of protective fury!

Thanks kevin, and the next update will take less time. Promise.

Enjoyed the review of the DC show. It was a great night indeed!!! I lived in DC from 82-86 and used to hang out at The Dubliner quite a bit. I met Jim MacCann there one night. He talked with us for quite some time. Seemed like a real good guy. Sorry to hear he can no longer sing, due to throat cancer.
Here is your beverage...five cents a cup of ice!!!
