The gig was Prince, shamelessly promoting his latest protege "Tamar", a female R+B singer, not much to write home about (says he, writing home about her!), but the twin back up singers/dancers were great, and I got to stand just a few feet away from "his purpleness" as he did MC, lead guitar and backing vocals for the whole show, so I was happy in me nappy!

Yer thanks alot Eamo, i am coming over from england with my 12 year old lad and although the nokia has assured me by email that we will get in its nice to hear you have seen kids at a gig. Dont see why they can't put under 16s with adults on the ticket tho ? Just gotta find a bar that will let is in before now ?

Yeah, I don't think you'll have a problem bringing your son to the gig. As someone listed before, http://www.murphguide.com is a good guide for bars in NYC. Not sure where you're staying, but perhaps you could email a few bars or "Murph" himself ?

The bars I listed near the Nokia all have restaurants too, so while they probably won't like to see your son belly-up ... er, eyebrows-up to the bar, you can all sit down, eat and drink and be merry, while soaking up the bar atmosphere.

I am staying at the pennsylvania hotel on 34th st, i phoned Connollys on E47 st today and booked tickets for the Wolftones on the 18th, they said my boy was welcome to see the show as long as he does not drink alcahol. It will do him good to have a few nights off the grog ! Maybe see you there mate
