how much cash do you think you would have to fork out to get the pogues to play in your local?

Depends a great deal, I imagine, on where your local is.

From what Phlip and James have mentioned over the years I suspect the price would be quite high:

o Travel expenses for the band, crew, etc - At least twenty people
o Hotel for twenty+ people
o Payroll for 15+ people
o Equipment transportation, rental, storage
o Venue (assuming that your local does not have a stage that can hold an eight-piece band, plus equipment)
o Catering, facilities, etc
o Local transportation
o Work visas for those members not residents/citizens of the country where the local is (particularly a nasty burden if bringing them to the USA I suspect)

I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff, but it looks like more than I could afford.

somewhere on these threads Philip mentioned that 100 people are involved in putting on a show, and he once told me the stage must be at least 40 feet wide to hold all of the instruments.

Let us know if you book them!

Well its a good thing he didn't get out his measuring tape at the 930 Club. It must be the smallest venue, and proabably smallest stage, they will have played in years.

That will be fun, then, really different. More like the original days. I'm envious.

I tried a bunch of anitquarian stores around where I live and they had none. I found a string of family owned shops in New Hampshire last time I was there, they had none but boasted a surplus of Rogues and Trogues - not really what I was looking for. Lucky, this Christmas and uncle of mine (somehow knowing I was in mid-search) presented me with a lovely, mint conditioned Pogue. I was......ecstatic. Unfortunatley I got no price for you - I was too thankful to ask.

I think that they should do a one off secret totally small venue warmup gig for the US tour in March. Tickets should somehow sold through this site so that only big fans know about it and can go.

Wot do you say to that then?

Tickets can be sold on the same site as normal, they just need to limit the sales to two tickets per person, as well as require that they be picked up in person, on the day of the concert, and at the venue itself, with ID presented at the time of pickup.
