When in New York (It's Live...but secret)

Post Wed Jan 11, 2006 5:43 pm

The last two times i've been to New York for concerts I've been very lucky and found one or more bands playing "secret" shows after the main show was over. What are the chances of finding them playing a dirty, little pub a few blocks away after the early shows at the Nokia? Have the Pogues ever done such a thing? And if they do this in New York where would I find out about it (Or who wants to call me and tell me the where and when and become my best friend for life)?

Hmm.....personally, I'll be watching the Letterman show around that time. Unless Barbara Cook or Elaine Stritch is at Feinsteins or something.

If Elaine Stritch is playing anywhere that night, Philip, I'll see you there!

Sort of...but in a live setting instead of the studio. :)

Well Philip, Elaine Stritch is doing a run at the Cafe Carlyle in the Carlyle Hotel now through Feb. 4th. Things like that have a tendency to get extended, so you never know...

Sometimes people show up at Rocky Sullivan's place on 27th and Lex.
It's a good Irish bar partially owned by Chis Byrne (formerly of Black 47)
and now known as Seanchai. If nobody shows up, the place has a great juke box.
