quick question how many shows did shane miss before he fell off the train and got asked to leave? and what were the shows like which he did? were they really bad or just like some of the performances he did with the popes which were also fairly bad?

"Bad" (as well as "really bad", "fairly bad" and "good") is a pretty loose concept

well his last ever gig in japan was filmed for TV and is out on bootleg dvd, you could try ebay and judge for yourself, i haven't seen it. It was really from '89 that his performances started to slip (missing gigs, even a tour), but not til summer 91 that it looked unworkable (ie he might die on stage if forced to go on). That said there were many brilliant gigs 89-91,
