Live CDs (Suggestion)

Post Tue Jan 03, 2006 1:33 am

I know it has been discussed on some other places... but I wanted to know if you would like to buy the live CD of the show you just attended 15 minutes after it's over.

DiscLive did this for the whole Pixies tour. I bought one and the sound was awesome. There also were limited (and numbered).

I'd like this for the USA tour. We would have a good live recording (instead of a crappy bootleg) and the band would make money with it.

Just a suggestion.
Can't wait!

I'd buy more than one...one for me,one for my girl & at least one for someone who wasn't there....especially a Pogues NY show, which is probably the last one(s) ever.

Yeah, it was 30$ US for The Pixies (about the same).
It's expensive a bit... but I don't regret it at all.

the only problem with that idea is the band would have to concentrate ten times harder to get it right every night. if i was them id prefer not to be recorded every night. on the other hand some fuck ups sound good on live cds

I don't want a perfect show... I just want to keep a live CD of the show I just saw. Anyway, there's a bootleg for almost every show now on the web.
All the greatest bands make some mistakes sometimes, so it doesn't bother me.

Just my opinion.

They were pretty good, played loads of songs off Levelling The Land, about 4 or 5 new ones, Cardboard Box City, What A Beautiful Day, Carry Me, Dirty Davey, This Garden and sum others. But it was in Liverpool Carling Academy which I think is a bit of a shit venue.

Live CD

Has anyone else been to a show where they sell you the CD's of that show right smack afterwards. The Pixies did this on their Coachella warm up, small-venue-tour and I just thought it was the most amazing idea. Sure it was $30, but you got a little premade case complete with graphics. I would rather spend the cash on that than a shirt. Now if we could just persuade the Pogues management to do the same. When everyone's plastered and can't remember a thing from the night before, you can just listen to the show! Brilliant!

That would make a supreme memento. I too would appreciate it much more than a shirt. I don't wear most T-shirts anyway, as I'm alergic to cotton.

Live Showa

The Pogues's management was not interested in the idea. I attempted to get them on a VERY good deal for the band but they didn't want to do it. That said, If anyone has any extra tickets I'm looking for 2 for any show.

I got L/pool , M/chester & Nott/ham cds of the levellers shows .all where very good live cds . In my opion Nottingham being the best due to size of venue/accoustics. all were worth the money .

would i buy a Pogues lve cd of the usa shows- hell yes
much better than paying high price to bootlegers
