The 16th is the only night I have a ticket for so I'll most likely see some of you anyway, Is the Nokia the old location of Bond's?

Cool. No,Bonds was across the way.Nokia is on the other side of the square.Don't choke on your Jamesons.....Nokia is located directly beneath MTV studios.AAAARRRGGHHH!!If you were to get a camera view of MTV,go lower left....that's where Nokia is....disgusting,I know....but there is an AWESOME marquee on the side(I think it's 43rd)......It was great to see a very animated Social Distortion board up on the night that the club opened...can't wait for the sea of green that awaits us!!!!

I'm going to N.Y and have never been there before. My girlfriend's also flying over. I was where I can find nice (preferably cheap) second hand clothes stores. (hope this is not TOO off topic)

You'll want to check your tour maps for St. Marks Place & the lower east side. There should be plenty to keep you busy down there. It will all be well south east of Times Square. The 6 train will drop you the closest, but you will have to walk to Grand Central to get a 6.From Times Square,an N or an R train will take you to 8th St & walk to the east would probably be easy for St.Marks.For the lower east side,go to 6th(Ave of the Americas)&42nd,and catch an F train.Get off at 2nd Ave or Delancey.

Try this place:

http://cheapjacks.com/

I have not been in there since they relocated from Union Square, but they had a very large selection of everything the last time I was there. New address is near Penn Station/Madison Square Garden Area.

So, is it Connelly's every night? Looks like I'll be at all four shows now (I think I've located a Sunday ticket) and will be staying the weekend - hope to meet up with everybody one way or another!

LOL - if you mean the pool I think you mean, it's pretty stagnant. These are much better waters!

Meeting up

Post Mon Jan 23, 2006 8:30 pm

I am going to the 3/16 show, is everyone going to be meeting up anywhere? Also where is Connollys ? Is it close to times square? My friends and I are looking for places to go in NYC, it is our first time going.
Thanks

Yeah I check out the pool every now and then to see how Bob's doing but I'm always disappointed. It's become a clubhouse for trolls...
here it's like in the old days of the pool I think

For decent beer in Midtown (stella, guinness, brooklyn lager) figure $5.50 - $6.50 per pint.

For American crap (which I drink - Miller Lite, Bud) figure $4.00 - $5.00 per pint. Carlsberg pints are in that $$$ range generally also.

For cheap pints in Midtown, there is a place called Rudy's on 9th Ave between 43rd/44th Streets - a complete dive, but I think all of their pints are under $5.00, and they sell pitchers, too - not a lot of places here do that.

Don't know about Connolly's - sorry.
