best pogues live venues

Post Tue Dec 13, 2005 6:41 pm

im just leaving to go to the show at glasgow academy tonight( im also going tomorrow. glasgow is the the (argueably) the best city for the pogues live, ive also visited edinburgh, amsterdam and london for shane ( and pogues or popes) . glasgow barrowland for me is the greatest venue in the world, maybe due to the electric atmos as other members may vouch for but what is yours?

Sheffield City was always good on account of the acoustics, which are brilliant. Saw em' at the Scunthorpe Baths Halls years back.....not a bad little place with a great atmosphere!

We played the Hammersmith Apollo (or Odeon as it was then) in, I think, 1986 or so. We didn't like it much and neither did the fans.

I agree. Also enjoyed the ones at the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool, for obvious reasons.

I was in the Apollo on Tues night, in my opinion its very much like the Brixton Academy. with the slope, bars, toilets etc.....
