Pre-Dublin Gig Pogues Pub

Never actually made it to Vallence and McGrath's myself unfortunately. Ran into some guys at the hostel I was staying at and got lost on the way to the Point so we just headed straight there.

Got a pink bracelet too, but the guy wrapped it around my wrist so tight it fell off seconds after. As a result, I couldn't get into that part of the floor but got sucked into the crowd right behind it.

Amazing show though, im sure you'll all agree.

Arrived in Dublin a little later than planned (about 10 past 5 or so..) and spent the next hour looking for the pub, thanks to a lying bastarding taxi driver..

EVENTUALLY, I got there. Stumbled in the door to find the place absolutely heaving!! Had a bit of a ramble about but unfortunately I had absolutely no idea who or what the fuck I was actually looking for!! So I spent most of the night just chatting to some headcase from Galway. G'wan Gerry ye aul bollix.


Anyway, how did you all get on? Sorry I didn't "make" it.. Had the most fantastic night of my life though!! Pogues fans, I love you.

same here! It was chaos in there by the time I got there. Spent about 20 minutes at the bar trying to get served leaving my lady friend being subjected to all sorts!

Just got back from Ireland, still trying not to drive on the other side of the road. But I wanted to say big hugs and kisses to Niall and his mate John for adding to the most memorable night of my life. The show was more than I could've ever hoped and the after party at the Voodoo was spectacular.

Niall and I met up, and his friend John. We were sitting at the bar the whole night in the back room. Yeah there were a lot of people there that's for sure.

The afterparty at the Voodoo was fantastic as well. They played some great music.

I spent a good half hour standing at the back bar talking shite to strangers, it was taking ages to get a pint.. There was some Dub bloke about 50, right at the corner of the bar (almost behind it) with his family singing the Streets of New York at the top of his voice. He nicked that shitty Santa hat I had.

Just got home. Spent a couple weeks in Ireland after the show. Had a great time with everyone at McGrath's. Fantastic time at the show (even though I had to beat some hippie to get to the pisser). Hell of a time at Voodoo Lounge (watch out for the crazy asian barman who likes to throw glasses at people). I caught one in the wrist but another lad got it in the head. The fucked up part is that the manager did nothing about it. I hope I never have a need to return.
