One of his two lovely daughters who sometimes appear with their Dad as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Shane will have to watch those hands during the Fairytale dance with daddy Jem around.

Cerys sings with The Pogues
Dec 9 2005
Western Mail

Full url

The former wild woman of Welsh pop has vowed to get into the seasonal spirit by performing one of the UK's favourite alternative carols.

Next week Cerys Matthews will sing live with Irish rovers The Pogues when they play Cardiff International Arena.

And as it's a Christmas gig, the band will perform their anthemic Fairytale of New York.

Made famous by the rousing duet between Pogues frontman Shane McGowan and the softer tones of the late singer Kirsty McColl, it made number two in the charts in 1987.

Last year it was voted the best Christmas song ever in a poll by music channel VH1, beating Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas?, Last Christmas from Wham! and Slade's Merry Xmas Everybody to the top spot.

Cerys, who will be in Wales to perform to just 250 dedicated fans at Bethesda Rugby Club on December 18, will sing McColl's part in front of 7,000-strong fans on Monday.
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
