You know what would be hilarious? a war of words based on canadian/american stereotypes? In all seriousness though, not really a huge canadian market, except maybe in the celtic maritime provinces. Lets face it, Toronto has little to no cultural identity of its own where as Boston and NYC are major irish centres. Montreal is French, and Vancouver is on the other side of the country. Thats just how it is boyo, better grab some NYC tickets (lord knows i did) and saddle up because I don't see them coming over here again anytime soon.

toronto may not be an irish based city but seeing as how damn big t-dot is there's bound to be tons of irish, right? yeah. according to my parents and other who saw 'em here back in the day there was always a big turnout too and i don't really see why that would be so different now, specially with the turnouts we get when flogging molly and the murphys roll in to town. now beleive me i would buy tickets and go to an NYC show in a second but i don't have the money right now and i don't see myself having it any time soon.

I love Canada. I love Toronto. Last time I played Toronto with Terry Woods in 2003, twelve people showed up and STILL I love Toronto. But we can only go where people are prepared to offer us realistic fees. We cost more than most promoters expect, but I'm afraid that's their problem, not ours. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but between 1984 and 1994, a lot of people made a lot of money from The Pogues, none of them actually in The Pogues. This time, it's different.

I can't complain!

Phillip Chevron and Terry Woods actually played my sleepy university town (Fredericton, NB) a couple of years ago with the Mahones.

It was one of those things where I found out that they were coming to Canada, and then found out that they would actually play a place within a 15 minute walk!!

I got my single signed, and thought that it would be closest thing I would ever see to the Pogues....Now I'm getting ready to make the trek to New-Yark to live out the dream...should be amazing.
