Dublin Meetup

Post Fri Nov 25, 2005 9:38 pm

Just wondering if there was one? I'm not all that familiar with pubs in Dublin but know my way around.. Any of the Dubs on the board got anything planned or have any suggestions? Thanks. 8)

Porter House I always end up when in Dublin. One of the few pubs in Temple Bar that is actually any good and O'Donoghues is just great fun for it's musical heritage

This Porter House sounds like a good pub, i'd be up for meeting there before the concert. But i'm up for meeting anywhere, i've never been to Dublin before so it's all new to me...

Yeah it'd be grand if we got a bit of a crowd together before the gig just incase anybody is stuck for a place to go. You're in for a hell of a session Wally. 8)

Just a shame that the Point is not really in the city centre

Mick. it's a long story.

Seriously, most of the places you'll want to drink in are in the city centre. Allow a good 15-20 minutes to get to the Point.

Haha yeah I have actually heard some stories about Dubs and the rest of the country and the pubs in the city centre are quite good but the best pubs you can find around Dalkey :D

If I think we're talking about the same pub, the Porterhouse doesn't sell Guinness, only their own beer, which is great, but it's not Guinness. The Palace bar upstairs has great traditional music. Downstairs bar is great as well.

But their own beers are so good :D

I especially liked the oyster stout, quite similar to Guinness
