help with manchester pub crawl.

Post Fri Nov 25, 2005 5:57 am

can anybody help me with organising a pub crawl for the manchester gig please?
preferably incorporating waxys, osheas, mulligans, galvins irish bar and ducies arms.
ive been told that these are the pubs to visit with the lads when we come through for the gig,but dont want to spend valuable drinking time wandering around trying to find them.
a rough guide to follow would be great.im sure we could get you a pint or two for your help as well!
it,d be much appreciated if someone could give us a hand.cheers!

Where will you be coming from? Probably best to leave Waxy's til last as it is across the road from the venue. If you tell me how you are getting to Manc it will be easier to help

Thats a hard one, cause all them pubs are pretty spaced out and you dont want to waste drinking time as you said, and im sure you dont want to waste drinking money on taxis too

not sure. depends when you arrive. There is a website with a map of irish bars on it. manchesterpubsandclubs or something like that. Might be worth a look

Alright Mr Bod - 11am! Nice one - should be in a nice state for the gig! To be honest Manchester is not the biggest place and the city centre's pubs are all a very short cab ride from each other. A city centre journey for 5 of you shouldn't cost you more than a quid each.

I would start in O' Sheas and work your way down Princess Street - definitely take in the German market for some proper beer and Gluhwein (hope that's spelt right!) in Albert Square. Its fantastic. From there its a short hope to Mulligans behind Kendals off Deansgate. A Manchester gem is called Corbieres - underground bar with fantastic jukebox just off St Ann's Square. Again from there you're not far from Waxy's although you might fancy one or two in Shambles Square on the way - opposite the giant ferris wheel.
