When MacGowan left...

Post Thu Nov 24, 2005 4:09 am

When MacGowan left the Pogues, did he mind that the Pogues continued to play songs which, in the sleeve notes, have him as the sole song-writer, or even the ones he co-wrote for that matter. Similarly, did any of the Pogues mind him playing Pogues songs with the Popes. I remember when I first saw The Popes I was amazed at the amount of Pogues songs he played. I remember seeing a docu and when Shane was interviewed he seemed to be saying he basically wrote Fairytale from a riff idea of Jems and then it showed Jem saying he had basically written it so did actually then going around playing songs which parts of each other had written cause any agro?

So does that mean that you and the Pogues gang were annoyed when the 'Popes' played sloppy 'covers' if you will of these 'Pogues songs'
