I'm hoping they keep "star of the county" down and "Sally Mclennane" and let me tell you, "Muirshin Durkin" would be a great addition

I've always thought that Maidrin Rua would be a great song to start the set with. Terry wanders out plucking, Jem wanders out plucking, the rest wander out and start adding their own instruments to the mix, etc. I love that song. :)

And of course Worms really needs to make a comeback as an encore track.

"Curse of Love" would be a real treat since it is one PM's better songs despite it being a b-side.
"Waltzing Matilda" in America would speak volumes to our nation in the midst of an endless war.

"And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda" speaks volumes anywhere, anytime. It's a contender.

Have you been singing Thousands at the recent gigs or Shane. Really enjoy your version. Thanks for coming on here.

'The Band Played Waltzing Matilda' as well as 'Transmetropolitan' would be wonderful but I think it's asking too much of Shane, in all honesty we know the setlist, don't we?

Right you are. I am imagining Shane singinging "And the young people ask 'What are they marching for' and I ask myself the same question" and the crowd going berserk. Phil am I right in believing that Shane is a peace activist? I remember him participating in a Hiroshima anniversary a while back. Anyway, If he or any of the rest of you all are, please consider that playing "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" would be a powerful statement here in the States and it would be most welcomed, at least by me. Thanks.

Never having been to a live show and not knowing what's generally been on the set-list, I'll be happy to hear whatever the boys choose, but if we're wishing, I'd pick White City, TBPW Maltilda, Greenland Whale Fisheries, The Broad Majestic Shannon, Kitty, Rake at the Gates of Hell, Waxie's Dargle, Old Main Drag, Thousands are Sailing. South Austrailia, The Body of an American, and of course, Fairytale. But hey, I'd be happy with Worms..

When I was a young may I joined the Army. Now I'm a middle age man. I have a strong dislike of politics and the current administration, and welcome any statement Shane might want to make in that vein. That said, I'm shipping out to the war a few weeks after the show, of my own free will. Remember... " he never threw a fight when the fight was right, so they sent him to the war." Chokes me up as much as TBPW Matilda.

The best start to a Pogues gig I ever saw was like this - but they began with Battle March Medley. The B-side instrumental, all of them wandering out, slowly joining in and at last MacGowan appears, the song hits its climax and he screams into the mike.
stunning!
