Beauty & the beast: KATE MOSS confirmed for Fairytale an

Post Sat Nov 19, 2005 11:49 am

confirmed, that is, 'rehab and fashion contracts permitting.'

This'll be a huge help to Justice For Kirsty who benefit from royalties of single sales. Moss more or less the most famous woman in this country right now - at least she makes more headlines than the Queen and Madonna combined. Moss & MacGowan will surely make the (tabloid front pages? Beauty & the Beast ..

Fairytale just took a few steps closer to number 1.

Victoria Clark is also in line, so look forward a good backstage write-up in the Sunday INdo.cm

Are they gonna take Shane's voice from the original and add it in the song?

Ok, here we are:

Supermodel KATE MOSS will record a duet with THE POGUES' frontman SHANE MacGOWAN of his classic Christmas anthem FAIRYTALE IN NEW YORK.

The collaboration will raise money for Justice For Kirsty, in honour of late singer KIRSTY MacCOLL who sang the original female vocals on the festive track.

I wish Kirsty was still around...No one will ever do a better job than she did on that song.

So... which one is beauty, and which one is the beast then?

(OK, silly question, as the beauty of Shane is indisputable...)

Does anybody know if Kate Moss is just in the video or singing or contributing in some other way?

So, I'm confused are Shane and Kate re-recording the vocals or is just Kate recording vocals or are they keeping Shane and Kirsty's original vocals and Kate just singing it live. Help!! I must know!! :?

I'll be honest, Simon. I am as much in the dark about this as you are. As I can't always tell the difference between a good "story" and an actual fact, I reserve judgement on all matters until they have been formally discussed by the band.

factoid
NOUN: 1. A piece of unverified or inaccurate information that is presented in the press as factual, often as part of a publicity effort, and that is then accepted as true because of frequent repetition...
