So who's going to sing the female voice in Fairytale at the Christmas gigs this year? Any ideas?
(That's assuming they do Fairytale, of course... )

If Cait's not up for it, it could be the female singer from the '01 tour again... only guessing. I could offer to sing the female part, too, but I'm no good in dancing waltzes with males lol

Why waste time and energy searching for anybody – why not have a look around within the band itself? ;) Shane could follow the example of his pal Nick Cave who released a smashing version of Where the Wild Roses Grow with Blixa Bargeld singing the part of the fragile female victim. Just imagine the gorgeous Fairytale rendition where Shane would be dueting with Spider Stacy or Andrew Ranken.

That was the original version of Wild Roses. Kylie was trying to copy Blixa's singing style.

for Fairytale why not the as-yet-unformed "Pogues Forum Ad Hoc Ladies Chorus" consisting of the ladies of the Forum at each venue: Glasgow: Territa, Sheva, Carmen; Brixton: Walshy, etc.
The large print giveth, and the small print taketh away. . .

Yay! Was going to volunteer my daughter, who does a blistering version. But then I'm not sure that the vitriol she puts into "you scumbag, you maggot..." would be the same if she sings it at dear Shane as it is when she sings it at her old man...

Excellent idea, mick! And, um, as it turns out, I'm a singer, actually, so...

I mean, since you brought it up and all.
