I feel honour-bound to say that if I were getting in at 5.25, I would be hoping to make it to the show just in time WITHOUT stopping at the Hotel!

I think I'll try to get in a bit earlier. I'd hate to miss anything.

quick look on this 'ere innernet type thing shows that you can get a single en-suite room at the Regent Palace for £49 - there's also some reviews on here. Location-wise you couldn't be any more central and you won't be short of things to do. IMHO a pretty decent deal:

this was quite a decent site & you can search by price etc. Here are the low price listings:
http://www.easy-london-hotels.com/searc ... o=priceLow

which threw up this place which if you fancy something central but not as busy as Regents Palace and want to walk thru Hyde Park of a morning then worth a look (£44 for a single per night):

this also looked okay for a bit of Art-Deco faded grandeur (£49 per night for single en-suite). It's located in theatre land with Covent Garden & the River Thames is a short walk:

and i can't sign-off without a mention for the Columbia , one of Londons fabled rock n roll hotels (see Oasis 'Columbia'). It's unlikely you'll be thrown out for making too much noise and the bar is usually late (although last time i was there it was noticeably quieter than previous stays) - don't be surprised if you bump into The Subways / Arctic Monkeys / A.N. Other up n coming band :

Hope this is of use, if anyone wants any more info on an area then PM me .

Fantastic.

I can't wait - my first Pogues show. To boot, 20-Dec is my birthday, so I don't think it can get any better.

Aside from the show, is there any thing anyone here would recommend I see? Is anyone planning on meeting up before/after the show for a couple of cold ones?

Thanks again, I certainly appreciate it

Thanks, Caukill! I think I'm set with Regent Palace, although I may keep looking. Now I just need to nail down the Glasgow lodgings and I'm set.

Wow, so many birthday shows - MissWalshy for the 18th, pete on the 20th. What a perfect way to celebrate!

I'm hoping for some pre or post show get togethers, especially since I'm traveling alone. Always nice to share the fun with kindred spirits!

Yeah definately, am sure there'll be a 'board meet-up' arranged somewhere. Would be good to put names to faces etc.
