And the band played waltzing matilda!

I am in Iceland, France, Ireland, Scotland Aug 16-31. I have missed the men in France by 9 days, surely the next stop is Ireland?

Tis better to part

Iceland is a fjordic land, a land with little ice.

Dunno about the walking. Others may have more idea. There's a Premier Inn at Thetford, a few miles away. Might be cheaper to stay there and taxi to venue?

Just googled mapped the walk from centrepars to the gig, Looks like a pleasant 1.5 mile trek on the way but looks a bit scary on the way back. Premier inn must know the pogues are in town £150 a room  . Oh well fingers crossed for a alnwick castle gig,,,,,,http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/music-festivals/8464447/The-stately-homes-that-rock-n-roll.html

The nearest Travelodge would be the one at Barton Mills, I think, currently offering rooms at £66. About 10/12 miles from the venue, I reckon. Not sure what accommodation there is in Brandon itself these days...

Does anyone know of a suitable boozer for an afternoon session before venturing into the magical, mysterious Forest? Yet another Pogues gig to give us all something to think about in terms of arrangements. Is Brandon the nearest town for a beer/meet? Anyone?

Info on Brandon

http://www.brandonsuffolk.com/

Other options depending on where you're travelling from is possibly decamp in Norwich then catch a train to Thetford or Brandon and get a taxi from the station (if possible) to the venue.

There will still be road works on the A11 upgrade so if travelling by car give yourself extra time.
