Not quite the buzz around on here that there used to be pre Pogues tour is there?!

5 years ago this place would have been rocking with people talking about meeting up, boozers, trains, planes and so on.

Time moves on eh? shame....

I'm still here and buzzing about next week and so is the Missus (she can't wait to get rid of me for 5 days  ).

My plan is Tuesday, car to Dublin, plane to Glasgow, pub, gig. Wednesday, Plane to Luton, Thursday, car to Brixton via Cambridge, gig and back again. Friday, Train to Brixton, Pub(s), gig, train home. Saturday, errrr....nothing. Sunday, plane to Dublin, car down to Tipp 8)

EDIT: Just thought, people have to post for there to be any kind of buzz.......When did you last post, Mark?

Facefuckingbook may well have taken a lot from this raft but i'd be on other forum (motorbikes) and it's flourishing to the point where in January i'll have to pay £15 a year to partake

Car on Thursday? I´m sure you can find a quiet parking lot where you can sleep

  No, sleeping drunk in a car park once is enough. I woke up bloody freezing. It's not the safest either

I count no less than 4 threads currently active discussing the upcoming shows, one of which is up to 27 pages! As i am unable to fly across both a continent and an ocean to attend, i quite rather wish there were less!

Ack, yer just doing it wrong. Make sure the tank is full of gas, leave it on "idle" with the heat turned on, and make sure the emergency/parking break is on so when you bump the gear shift with your elbow in your sleep ...

Medusa may well be one of the last refuges for us old facespace-resisters (though I have to admit I've finally been dragged into tweetworld), but we treasure it all the same. Though I'm sure we all are deeply missing our beloved Mr C's presence on this raft.

The cricket team I support recently shut down their official forum, mainly because they got fed up with everyone telling them how carp they were. A few of us have restarted with an unofficial board, but have suddenly realised that we need finances to sustain this.

And get arrested for being drunk in charge of a vehicle, in this country at least. Even though you're not actually driving it. It used to be the case, anyway. I got told off (though let off with a lecture) by an officer of the fine local police force for sleeping off a hangover in the car in my younger days, when I'd got in it early one morning after a heavy session the night before and then realised that as I couldn't actually see I was probably not in a fit state to drive. Is that still the law here?

It's the law here (in NY anyway) - just the other day I heard on the radio a bit about a guy sleeping in his car somewhere in the NYC area. Don't recall where, but the facility where he was parked in a visitor's space was closed and a cop came by to investigate. He saw a guy in the car, woke him up, smelled booze, and arrested him for DUI. Pretty lame.

I still come on here despite using Facebook and Twitter too. Each site for me is a different 'audience' if you know what I mean, Facebook for friends and people who know me, Twitter for networking and meeting people I wouldn't ordinarily meet and here for keeping up with what The Pogues and their fans are up to.

I couldn't ever leave Medusa. Wild horses wouldn't even be able to drag me away.

Heather - when I met you and Jake in Dublin before Phils testimonial - we said the forum might go a bit flat without his input - I think he caused a lot of buzz around anything to do in the pogues orbit - these threads would have been twice as long with his input and calming speculation etc - see y'all Sunday maybe

A bit like everyone one else who was in Dublin before Philip's testimonial, I approached the event with mixed feelings. I was moved to tears by the experience and was bloody glad we went. I have a similar but different anxiety about Sunday. Unusually for me, I am just doing the one gig this time and I plan to go completely sober - first time since that weird gig in Liverpool. I hope my trepidation is baseless and we all have the same old best ever night out. :D

I'll be quite honest, Aidan. I think the site is well buzzing. I think it's great that we've all managed to keep it all together and carry on despite the sad loss of Phil. The place hasn't gone flat at all. I'm on the site every day and in a funny kind of way there seems to me to be a lot more posts daily than in the last couple of years. Sometimes it takes me a while to get through everything.

Yes, I'll be around on Sunday, not sure what the plan is yet pub wise. Hope we meet again.
