This may be an unnecessarily geeky question, and perhaps I've missed the answer to it elsewhere, but does anyone know which version of RS&L the band are going to be performing in December?

Is it the original vinyl version, or the CD/cassette version with added Pistol?

Probably the vinyl version. Hope they are playing the long version of Waltzing Mathilda. Have they done that before?

Yeah, I'd say the original vinyl version. But I'm not climbing up on stage to turn them over after Sally MacLennane

The songs I'm really looking forward to hearing are Wildcats of Kilkenny and Jesse James.

I think they will want to insert some other songs in as well with it being Crimbo. Ive only ever been to one of these album things before and that was the Wonderstuff. I wasnt really a fan so had no idea of any of the songs hence my next question. Do bands normally do the album in order or just play songs ina variety of order until the albums finished.

In my experience of such things, bands normally play the whole album in track order. And do other songs after (or before and after). The last one I saw was Bruce Springsteen doing the whole of the Darkness on the Edge of Town album in the middle of his set. Mind you, a Bruce set does last for a while...

Yeah I saw Paul Simon do Graceland. He did a few random songs first, then into the album but not all in the correct order (which kind of defeats the object). Then a few greatest hits.

Back in the day, they used Pistol for Paddy Garcia as the intro-would be cool if they did that for this tour. Maybe they could include the extended version-they usually always play Body and Rainy Night, London Girl made the cut in 2011. Along with Cait singing I'm a Man You Don't Meet Everyday, they should bring Noel Hill along for his tribute song!

I saw Lou Reed do"New York", Ike Reilly do "Salesmen and Racists" and just last month caught a show in Minneapolis where The Gear Daddies, Soul Asylum, Matthew Sweet and Big Head Todd played their most well known LPs. In each case, the bands played the song sin exact order of the LPs except for Ike Reilly who played all the songs in exact reverse order.
