God, but we're really fucking fortunate to be having any gigs at all. Let alone one so interesting in its concept, with so many "new" songs getting played.
Yes, I'm spoilt rotten by living a half hour walk away from the Brixton Academy. But a brilliant music gig from your favourite band is a massive luxury - if they weren't playing any where near London, or if it was more prohibitively expensive, I'd have to just feel a little disappointed that the stars didn't quite align. Last year, I was sad to be in another country when the band played the 02, and more so when I found out how special recent developments made that gig. But I'm not entitled to any of this.
It isn't a matter of loyalty being ignored. The band/consumer relationship doesn't and can't work like that.
