I suppose as Philip himself hasn't mentioned the state of his health recently it's not for us to speculate in such a public forum.

I have to say that when he first announced the tour i was very shocked at the choruses of woohoos, yipees and smiley faces that followed. Did that appear somewhat insensitive? I think so. However, i know that through private forms of contact many of the regular faces around this raft have expressed their mixed feelings.

Like you though, Spin, i too will be raising a glass to Philip in December 8)

Very well said Fr. McGreer !!! I guess Clash Cadillac and me will join you and raise a pint with you...

As a play on the "HAVE YE NO SHANE?" from the 90s, someone should make some "WE WANTED OUR PHIL" banners. But explain to the band the affectionate spirit it's being offered in before they come on. Or don't do any of it. Anyway.

Hopefully Phils position in regards to these shows can be confirmed in the near future.

I don't presume to speak for Phil, his plans, or his desire/ability to travel. In the announcement regarding his illness' return, however, it was made reasonably clear that he is not an active participant in either of his bands for the foreseeable future:
Chevron, who was last year part of the releases The Pogues In Paris on Polydor and the Radiators' Sound City Beat on Chiswick, is currently taking a break from both bands. The Pogues are on a prolonged time out, emerging only in support of matters relating to their 30th anniversary this year

It's possible that Philip will attend one (or several) shows, and may even participate on stage. I think it's a reasonably safe assumption that another guitar player will be on the stage trying very, very hard to fill some mighty big boots.

Thanks you for saying it out loud DzM. I have found it very difficult to keep a clear head when reading some of the comments on the various mediums since the announcement of gigs. Some here and others particularly on Mr Zuckerbergs medium. The level of insensitivity and ignorant questions in the shadow of Phil Chevrons health is at an all time high. Comments concerning the shows on that "blue page" have been kept to show announcements as I fight the urge to rip into the multitude of self centered, insensitive idiots world wide.

hi,

what a great news !

M.Chevron, any idea of approximative stage times ?
I plan to take a plane to Glasgow landing at 18h20, I don't know if this won't be too late depending of stage times.
(how many times also from the airport to the venue ?)
thanks a lot

They are not usually on stage before 9pm. Most shows have been 9.15pm on previous tours. This not official though.

I feel that taking delight in the announcement of some fantastic looking shows in the future is a very reasonable response, undercut as the thoughts may be with sadness for something much realer and far more completely devastating than a rock n roll band's playing music, and that self-centered, insensitive idiots may have more wisdom in their methods than first glance by accentuating the positive. To put it another way, "there was nothing ever gained by a wet thing called a tear."
