You will have a better understanding of London than I if you do primarily walk or bus it as opposed to just popping up all over the place from the tube and trying to piece it all together. So there's that.

There are overland trains from Victoria to Brixton about every 15 minutes. I remember having to get one when the Victoria Line underground had a problem three or four years ago. Trains back to Victoria later in evening I think they are every 1/2 hour, last one just after 11.30pm.

... I tried willing the Scunthorpe pub shows into existence, but it didn't work, just so you know.

You should try dreaming it. I have a recurrent dream about the Pogues playing in Newmarket. As far as I know it hasn't actually happened yet, but it seems real to me.

Oh I'll have to try that! That way I could even transport myself back to a 1985 gig in an imaginary Scunthorpe pub.

But the only time I can actually recall dreaming about a gig was in a dream where a band called Rank and File that I'd barely ever thought of were playing in a bingo hall for some reason. So I don't like my chances for conjuring up a 1985 Pogues gig exactly where I want it.

Anyway, if you happen to dream up the Pogues in Newmarket again, please invite me. I just looked it up, and you must have had them playing at a racetrack or horse stables, and the song was probably Bottle of Smoke, right? With my luck, my Pogues dream would be pitch black and they'd just be playing Worms endlessly in that pitch black darkness. I don't know, I suppose that would be better than nothing.

That dream'll probably happen again, as it has a few times. Though sadly it's not at the racetrack (although they do have open-air gigs there) but seems to be at Newmarket town hall, or memorial hall, or some similar venue. And in the dream, for some unclear reason, I'm usually given the responsibility of making sure that Shane gets onstage in the right place and at the right time. So it's not without its stresses...

Anyway, back to December, are there any Medusans out there interested in sharing transport to Brixton from the Cambridge area?
