That may have been me. And I may have been more hoping than joking.

And a very manly version that would be. :)

It would be brilliant, I reckon. I'm partly concerned that with all the RS&L going on, we might not get Star of the County Down. And I think Mr Ranken ought to do more singing.

Maybe then he could do FoNY too. Could work. 'Twould be a bit like Mr Cave and Mr Bargeld doing Where The Wild Roses Grow.

Getting giddy too. It seems kind of weird that a reunion that started exactly 12 years ago in Manchester starts again in Manchester - the things that really stands out in my memory about that little warm up gig for the reunion at Manchester academy were the (energetic) Jesse James as warm up ( I had to be near the front from the off ) - the guy from derby or notts or somewhere who was right down the front in his wheelchair - and didn't care he was getting smashed all over the place - bloody hell I got some bruises off your ironwork mate !! - and stop calling me duck :D
And the wonderful parting glass as a finale - I wished they never dropped this
For some weird reason I didn't go to the Apollo the next night but spent the end of the next week in residence at the Brixton academy - bloody hell 12 years ...........

That Academy gig was one of the gigs I've ever been to. I had no idea what to expect and they brought the house down. Roll on Sunday

At two minutes to five my boss walked in and asked a work colleague if he was off on Monday, he said 'yes', then my boss asked me if I was off on Monday, I also said 'yes'. He went 'great!' and stormed out to the room.

I left work tonight feeling on a high, really looking forward to the gig and thanking my lucky stars that I didn't have to cancel the hotel room and then halfway to the bus stop, I started to feel sad and tears welled up in my eyes. I have mixed feelings about this tour. I'm excited but at the same time it's going to be very sad. These are the same feelings I had about Philip's testimonial.

I've not been to Manchester Apollo since back in the day. One of my first Pogues gigs was there. Looking forward to going there again, despite all the sadness I feel right now, I'm sure I will enjoy myself and I'm also sure it'll bring back many happy memories.

Massive anticipation for next Friday. I'm sure the crowd will sing 'Thousands..' for Phil. After a disappointing show from Primal Scream at Brixton this week, I'm relying on The Pogues to kick the festivities into gear!

2013 - The Pogues are amazing aren't they?

Hi,

Any pubideas for brixton? We're coming from across the channel and don't know the neighbourhood. A couple of years back, we went to Glasgow and this forum recommended a pub i still love to the day... It would be great if this could happen again 8)

Haven't you been to any of the reunion gigs at the Apollo?

No. Mainly because of the transport problem and not having enough holidays left, but luckily this time, I did have the latter. :)

Thank you.

Must get my packing done. Luckily it's only one night and we don't have to go too far away.
