Every tour somebody asks this question. He's a member of the fucking band, the same as the other seven. They have not played a gig without him since 2001!! Mind you, some of those gigs (Dublin 09 i think) they'd have been better off without him

I'll be going from Cambridge, but will more than likely just jump on the train to be honest.

And regarding Newmarket - if The Pogues should ever reach the point where they're playing Newmarket Nights then I'd say all is lost, it's the most soulless, money-driven gig going!

Indeed. Though I'm told by those who've attended that the amount of alcohol consumed at Newmarket Nights would be comparable to a Pogues gig.

I don't do trains across London, so the train's not an option, sadly. We'll probably get a vehicle together one way or another, and embark on yet another epic Pogues journey.

The first point is true, yes. I somehow got roped into seeing Meatloaf there a few weeks back and if I'm honest, I've never been so grateful for alcohol induced lack of memories.

Ah, I see. Fair enough. To be honest I'm too unreliable at events such as this to commit to return when scheduled, it all gets a bit hazy and even the best laid plans go to ruin.
