The Other Shoe Has Dropped!

Post Thu Sep 29, 2005 9:49 pm

Last week, only three of the four tickets ordered arrived - I was missing one of the Brixton ones. Needless to say, I haven't been too happy about it, especially since Ticketmaster didn't seem inclined to help. But in today's mail - hurrah! The missing ticket made its way here! It's now joined the others, safe and sound, awaiting December's journey. Whew! Now all I need is a flight booked, and a hotel room...

I'll probably won't even book a hotel for Dublin. Just go the 23rd, get pissed, go to the gig, get even more pissed after and take some Nitelink to the airport again :D

Glad to hear you got the tickets. I'd probably stay up in a pub all night and then go to sleep in one of those shady ones with a bedroom.

Sheva, which shows will you see?

Anybody else going to Glasgow?

Carmen, would you please let us know again the name of the pub where we can find you?

This year I will start drinking later than 3:30, and will stick to Guinness. Still not sure what food to eat in Glasgow. Suggestions welcome.

I'll be in Glasgow too. :)

No idea yet where to stay, what to do, etc, so I could use a few suggestions as well!

Surely Guinness is a good candidate for what to eat?

Oh, and, DzM, I agree Guinness is food -- that was the attitude I had last year, and missed most the show because I danced the entire time. Hope to see more this time. 8)

Sandwiches?? Where's the sense of adventure? If you're going to Scotland, sample the regional cuisine.

Get a belly full of booze, and go out for a big steaming platter of Haggis!!

Speaking about haggis, when I went to visit my penpal in Scotland about six years ago, one day I ended up having a dinner with her and her family. I was served something innocuous, but the suspiciously-looking meal on her father’s plate got my attention. I discreetly asked her: „What is it your father is eating?“ „Haggis,“ she replied. Having only a vague awarness of the Scottish traditional dish, I prodded: „What is it made from?“ She cast a stony glance at me and in a voice dropping icicles said: „Better don’t ask.“ And that was the end of the talk. What a pride in specific national tastes... ;)
