this year get yourself a hip flask fill it with ya poison of choice fuck the pubs overchargeing bastard landlords that they are, and that includes those overpriced cans of beer they sell in the fuckin academy, 3 quid for a can of guiness fuck off! and get ya moneys worth out of the gig and get right down the tip of the stage before all the other punters get in who have been walking round bleedin brixton lookin for a jar then you will have a good view of the gig, i think this year it will be a bit more lively for the dropkicks last years warm up was great but very laid back, if you want the pub theres one so close to the academy that hardly anyone seems to know of it,local knowledge ya see is priceless! just stand outside said venue on the steps and point yourself straight ahead cross the road keep going straight for 5 minutes and you will see the pub ,tables outside will give the game away!mines a pint sir. o and do not turn up to pissed because the bouncers will not let you in ,sad but true.

Your local knowledge doesn't serve you to well! I don't think you'll find yourself in the presence of too many overcharging landlords as the pubs around is - the Beehive (whetherspoons) and the goose ( as cheap as a whethers) the backstage bar (right next to the academy) is supposed to be as cheap as any of them! So 3 cheap bars all in 2 mins of each other!

The bar your talking about with tables outside - that wouldn't be the Hobgoblin would it?

What a shit hole that place is!

Erm I personally wouldn't be in any of them "soul-less dumps" I live round the corner so I have my own local.

The Hobgoblin wouldn't be a 5 min walk either! more like 15.

As I might be making the trek overseas to both concerts, could I trouble you to reccomend any other decent pubs to go to before the shows? I figure I might as well try and take in some the local culture (ie: get drunk on another continent) while i'm there :D ...
