Dropkicks

Brilliant - the Murphys opening for the Pogues - a match made in heaven. Cait sang Fairytale with the Murphys on a recent US tour - let's hope there is a rabble rousing stage full of nutters for an encore. I hope they wind up with Fiesta then get into some heavt ska numbers as per 1988 again! Just can't wait.

I am not a big dropkick fan but I do admit that they will set the stage for the Pogues really well...their albums are really hit and miss and some parts of Blackout sound too much like Flogging Molly (I hate flogging molly) but I have seen them in the past and they have a great onstage presence and energy...most of the bands that open for the POgues and Shane the past couple of years have been real stinkers and this is a real improvement

Hi - me again. If you did the Murphys early stuff then check out the album 'Savin Hill' by the Street Dogs. It's Mike McCoglan (first DM singer)singing and writing most of the songs: not so much like the Pogues - more like the Clash with some US Hardcore and UK OI influences. Great singalong choruses.

Their (Street Dogs) latest album "Back To The World" is also worth checking out!

I love the Dropkicks. It's too bad I'm stuck in Canada.

OCTOBER JAPAN TOUR CANCELLED

Message from Dropkick Murphys

"Dropkick Murphys singer Al Barr was hospitalized on Friday with severe stomach pains. After emergency surgery and lots of bed rest his doctor expects him to make a full recovery. Unfortunately this sudden illness has meant he will not be able to perform in Japan. The Dropkick Murphys tour dates will be rescheduled once Al has been released from hospital, given a full bill of health and will be well enough to make the long flight from Boston to Japan. We would like to thank all our fans for their patience and understanding and to assure everyone we expect Al to make a speedy recovery.
Japan is one of our favorite places to tour and we hope to be there again very soon."

I received my ticket the other day and their names are on the ticket, as well as the Dropkicks are sending out on their mailing list they're scheduled to play the Point!! (finally after emailing people they were not)

Now if I could only find out in what pub they drink...

Let's hope that DKM puts together a party for their Supporters Club members. They often do that.
