ok, first of all, why assume I'm american? I'm canadian, Its the same as labelling the irish as brits!!! Further more, i was just saying that well, the pogues haven't been over here for a hell of a long time. Just saying, they'll go half way around the globe to japan and its a shame they don't head out in the other direction.

Because we're talking of The Pogues here and not of some other band?

Because they're one of the few bands worth crying about?

*side note , not trying to "steal the the thread"*

"why assume I'm american? I'm canadian, Its the same as labelling the irish as brits!!!"

Thats an idiotic statement. Two completely different situations.Being that the U.S.A is barely old enough to have its own cultural identity (albeit not a model of humanitarian compassion) and you perpet that we (USA) as a nation somehow subjugated your cultural identity, heritage or ran you to economic inslavement. I call B.S.,I think thats perhaps you are nationaly suffering from the middle child syndrome in the sense that NO one seems to notice you or any of your achievements,so in as far that you must seperate and distance yourself from your "other" rebellious sibling lest not anyone assume that you are not firmly and resolutely anywhere else but morally superior to us and have the health plan to prove it. YOU are the pompous and arrogant one not I. The Fenians wouldn't have succeded in the first place the Brittish parliment wouldnt have wanted you back with this kind of self agrandizing spew (that feeds the ego so much as to rebellion, hahah at least we (USA) admits it, some people in Northern Ireland admit it, you cant even do that!) .Inherent blind nationalism, BAH its all shit. A simple rebuttal if desired is yours but I have NO interest in pining on this for more than whats been dedicated to it already. Back to the business at hand, Cheers,Jeers and Beers-

Let me also say that I was WRONG for raining politics onto this forum. I do not believe this forum is a place for such things as these things center around our difference NOT our common bond ( The Pogues). I seek neither to alienate anyone on this forum with such blather. I only replied out of anger as to seeing someone else do such ( and quite possibly them NOT realizing it) and I for one will NOT rant on about MY poltics on here again. The beers on me this round.

Hell - Rant about your politics if you want. Just accept that one man's heart-felt political rant is another's most sincere belly-laugh; keep the rants respectfull of eachother (I and the PMs will not tolerate personal attacks here); and whoever invokes Hitler or the Nazis first gets a swift kick in the groin.

Not wishing to change the subject, of course, but boy do I wish the Pogues would come and play a matinee show (since I work nights) in the courtyard of my lovely apartment complex!
the mirrors would do well to reflect further
