where does it say that the two shows are in two different cities? One (Social Distortion) is on Friday and the Pogues play on Saturday. So no problem there! Going on Friday I wouldn't want to miss Wilco, probably one of the best bands out there right now.

Hey guys, I might be the luckiest man on earth. It's my dream to see The Pogues live... and I'm going to be in the south of France on that week-end! (I'm from Québec, Canada)

I looked at the official web page... but in the English version, no mention is made for the Pogues... and I can't read Spanish.

I'd like to know at what time are the doors opening? At what time are The Pogues playing? Will there be ticked still available at the door? If not, how could I pre-order them... since I'm leaving in two weeks. It would be to short to receive them by post... and I won't have any address in Europe.

Thanks... I do really want to see them this time :)

I´m spanish, but couldn´t find very useful information for you, sorry. I assume the pogues will play late on saturday, since they´re at the top. I guess there should be tickets left if you go and ask for them at the door (they don´t say at what time they open), but there´s a phone number and an e-mail direction to pre-order them. if you click on the ticket icon up to the left of the main page.

I´ll be there!

I´m going I´m going any which way the wind may be blowing
I´going I´m going where the streams of whiskey are flowing! yay!

Here's the reply I received from the official web site:

"Hello

The doors will open at 16:00 (4:00pm). The Pogues will be playing (aprox) at
23:30 (11:30pm).

You won't have any problem to get the tickets at the festival. You can
pre-order them at http://www.servicaixa.com or on the phone: 0034 902 33 22 11.
If you pre order them you can take them at the ticket box the day of the
festival.

Best regards"

Shane in Spain?

Is Shane McGowan going to be playing at this Spanish gig sept. 3 with the pogues or just the pogues? What is the official word?

Surely recent evidence (10+ shows since 2001) has shown that Shane MacGowan is again a member of The Pogues. We've been given no reason to suspect that this will change for the show in Spain.

Spain Gig...

The last time I saw Shane was in 2003 at the last Holidays in the Sun in Morecombe. He was w/ the popes then. It was a great show. But since I live in the USA and he never comes over here, I haven't really followed up. Shane is officially back with the pogues then? And so he will almost certainly be at the Spain show? I am visiting England in Sept. and want to make sure as possible before shelling out money for the tickets. It just weird that on one of the Shane sites it says that he is not doing any gigs, and on the rock festival website, they still don't list the Pogues...

Every time The Pogues have performed since 2001 Shane has fronted the band. For the purposes of The Pogues and live shows, Shane is in the band. For the purpsoes of shows without The Pogues Shane's band has been The Popes. His current relationship with them is currently ambiguous.

The festival seems really disorganized about updating their English content. Look at their Spanish content.

Spain in my future

Thanks Dzm for the info. A trip to spain plus show tickets is gonna hit my wallet a bit, even from England, but it's worth it to hear again the Shane I heard in 2003, I was impressed and I am not easily. His voice seemed to embody a kind of rough but magnificent Irish working class soul and spirit. That was only time I managed to see them live (though I have most of the cds). So anyway, maybe I'll see you there (won't recognize you of course)
Cheers,
ShadowWolf

Sadly the trip to Spain from sunny California would hit my wallet even harder than yours from The Smoke. You'll very likely not be seeing me there. Have a good time though - they put on a fun show.
