Yes, I am afraid we did. It was fucking horrible. None of us gave a fuck what we were doing at that point. That was a really miserable time. Thanks for reminding me.

Can this lineup honestly be called "The Pogues?" This post really need to go to the "Shared Glory" folder as it better describes a Pogues cover band.

Can Andrew, Jem, Darryl and Spider cover themselves?

Wow I'd pay to see that cover band.

Awesome!

My life is now complete that Spider Stacy has told me to fuck off! Honestly, I meant no harm with my words. Rather it was kind of a back handed compliment. Losing Shane was a big blow to the Pogues but I was willing to give the Waiting for Herb lineup the benefit of the doubt in 1993 since the vast majority of the spirit and creativity of the Pogues was still there. But not having Fearnly, Chevorn, Woods, and Stacy really stretches the definition of the Pogues.

If having 3 of the main 8 Pogues counts as the Pogues I don't know what doesn't.

I am really glad that you are all back together and we don't have to endure another July 1996 lineup. Call me a purist.

Fair enough Glonn, sorry i jumped down your throat. It was just the tribute band bit. It's worth bearing in mind that the band had a commitment to play that show and weren't really in a position to pull out.

One of my problems with this page is that things always seem to be so black and white. Is it the Pogues or isn't it the Pogues, with Shane or without Shane, are we credible or have we sold out, it's great or it's shit. Like anything there are layers and layers of different shades of grey and nothing is ever as straightforward as it seems from the outside. Quite frankly there are a million things we'd all do differently if we had the chance. I'm going outside now. I might be some time.

Call me picky, but I think it would be a mistake to confuse this page (or the other well-known forum pages) with the jerkoff opinions posted to it.

Well, hold on a minute DzM. You are one to talk, oh jackbooted one. You (and many others here, I might add) ARE actually black and white. Sure there are a few who are both black and white AND shades of grey (like Mr. Celtic), but glonn, for the record is RED and white.

As for jerkoff opinions, I say yes. Without hesitation. Not in public.... but thats just my opinion.

Now ... everyone lighten up. :)

Yeah. I see black white and various shades of gray. Unlike me with my beautiful colors (colours) and all. But you see I do have some black spots so I don't entirely escape Spider's citique. :)

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. My avatar is distinctly charcoal grey and ash grey. No black or white to be found in it (well ... except for in the frame with that santa hat - need to update the avatar without that ASAP).
