WoW, i finally finished it! And am slowly recovering. You left me wordless, Mr. Fearnley :D And what impressed me even more than your writing talent is your knitting ability!
Thank for every line of it!

What a clever idea this blogue is! I do hope there is more to come.

James' writing style, however, reminds me of horrible hours of analysing German texts with innumerous intricatly interwoven dependent clauses, all of which could perfectly well be postponed until after the first tale was over with and the reader had been rewarded with a full stop, only without the 34 verbs at the end of the monster.

Then again, I rather like German too :p

Oh, German. A most generally underrated and unwarrantedly disdained language. Your man, Kafka, of course, was a fecking genius at those interwoven dependent clauses. Him and Proust. Neither of whom were actually German. Well, one of them a little. The point I was making no longer seems to have a leg to stand on does it?

I think I am still scarred from having to translate Kafka into English at school...

'Tis great stuff, though, when you work it out. Not that you ever can work it out, really. :)

Don't worry. Even for a German Kafka isn't the easiest thing to read.

Having to translate it into English...what a nightmare....
