Did James blog this tour? It'd be interesting to hear his take on, among other things, Shane's knee injury and the terrible weather.

So that's not your real name? Then what is

There's a bunch of gas stations called "Chevron" here in the States. I guess it rules out that you have a filthy rich family.

Is it Ryan?

It would be ironic if Mrs MacGowan had remembered James's name but not vice versa. But I can't say I know the answer to your question. It's a common enough occurence in Ireland. My mother was born Christina, but nobody has ever called her anything other than Christine. All his life my father was known by a forename which does not actually appear on his birth certificate. Amidst such uncertainty, changing my surname to Chevron at the age of 18 seemed quite normal.

Snap Philip, my Dad been known all his life by another forename and my grandmother, both Irish born and bred (unlike me

AND we here in London spell our surname Mac ... while my family over Irish sea spells it Mc. Then my Dad writes his surname as 2 distinct words ... which my grandfather didn't ... though he did use the 'a'... mostly, and so do I, though I stick to one word.

It's all the same. We know who we are 8)

B T W Philip, how many days do you plan to stay in Gothenburg?? do you arrive the day before or earlier?

Any questions on what to do, just ask

Of course, I'm hoping to scribble a thing or two, with it being our first visit to Sweden for umpteen years. I expect to see a lot of changes there in the interim.

Now if Mr Fearnley could always bring the weather with him, it might presumably avoid the whole "Too Damn Cold" malarkey...

Sweeden looks like it has cool weather. Lots of snow and ice, I was impressed by the Ice Hotel I saw on Mega Structures.
