Quickest = tube (about thirty minutes)
Most fun = boat (but you will have to get a tube or bus from Euston to Charing Cross, Waterloo or London Bridge to pick up the boat)

Probably going to be a tight schedule so probably best getting the tube. Thanks Smoz :D

Looking forward to seeing The Pogues at the O2 Arena in December,i'll be travelling from Bushey which isn't too far to travel.I have a lot of sympathy with our friends from 'up North' who are unable to make it to the 02 on the 20 th,so much so,i have 2 old friends from Glossop staying with me,who happen to be veteran Pogues fans from the very early days.As students living in London in the early 80's, they remember those early Poguemahone gigs with much affection and angst!

No. The box office is not something I take an active interest in.

As a fan since the back from hell tour 1986 Kilburn national, picnic in the park electric ballroom, and many a drunken night at the town and country and brixton ,i find myself staying away with a very heavy heart from the o2 as i did with the wembley gigs.with the big 30 coming up i thought there was going to be something special maybe a run of nights at brixton or something of the like.I find it hard to believe that the band or management were unable to secure a run of nights at brixton and a tour of the UK,they above all knew the 30 was approaching ,the band always sellout these venues , but like back in the wembley days i feel the band have sold out again, big fat pay cheques all around.
but to all those who are going have a great time ,the band will be on top form as always, but i won't be there, but if they happen to tour again i'll raise a glass to that.

Sure, because obviously, it goes without saying, that we'll earn more playing to 10,000 people at the 02 than we would playing to 40,000 on a UK tour.

did i get the numbers wrong, and if idid, so did you,i thought the 02 held 20,000 not 10,000, still not bad for a nights work, but this is not just about money, and maybe it was a bit crass of me mentioning it , this is about the pogues 30 anniversary tour,30 years of cracking music and blinding gigs, not one night in an huge arena with over priced beer and something that resembles an airport lounge, like i said enjoy the gig,and i know you and the rest of the band will be on top form as always, but i'm just going to sit this one out, no hard feelings and i look forward to seeing yourself and the rest of the band when you tour again, cheers iminthepub

We're not really expecting to attract 20,000 and will be using the 02's smaller configuration unless there's an unexpected surge of demand. To the greater point of what it's "about", I think it's probably in the purview of The Pogues how we celebrate our 30th.

I'd say at shows in the US all beers are over priced, unless of course your in the pub

I have no concerns about them selling out. I think the idea of seeing them with 10K people is amazing. It's going to be bonkers, and I can't wait. I've seen them once, 1994 or 5, in Seattle. Amazing, this is going to be great for me. But as one who has been on this site for ten years (albeit quietly - and under another name - lost password and they make it too easy to post without) I am curious how others find the enthusiasm for a familiar set list year in and out. Something peculiar which I seem to share with others here, and this might explain my curiosity, is how the term appreciate comes up in defining our response to the music and the attitude of the band (save for one member - possibly, but I don't pay enough attention to him to know for sure). Thanks for deciding to play this Christmas, and luck has it that I shall be in London (from Alaska - am I going to be farthest traveller?) for this event. P.S. Limerick Rake.

Beer in all music venues of medium size or above is overpriced. Can't quite remember how much difference there is between the price of a pint at the O2 Arena and the O2 Academy, but I think they'll be pretty similar. Presumably there are reasonable pubs in the Greenwich area that can be visited beforehand.

We'll be heading straight for the old Dome on the night, I think. Parking and all that. It will be something special. It's The Pogues. It's Christmas. Excitement mounts.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Why is thirty such a bit celebration?? I thought 25 is more of a milestone which I attended in 2007 :D The one thing you can say about the Pogues is that they could hold a gig in a cupboard and it would still blow everyone away.
