Most of the show it was for too soft, unbelievable, what went wrong? It could have been one of the best Pogues gigs I have seen, but becauase of the bad sound, it wasn't. And it was also a bit short, 1 hour and 20 minutes I guess.

Sorry you had trouble with the sound. Cologne council has a 68DB limit on volume levels, this is completely out of our control.

If that was really the case, The Pogues should not have accept that. A rockband never should play at a level of 68 Db. When you are a professional band and playing years and years for crowds of thousands of people (which spends a lot of money to see you), you always have to take care of a good sound. In my opinion that is the responsibility of the band. Yesterday at the first songs there was some huge fluctuation in the sound volume (for instance Greenland Whale Fisheries was very loud) and it wasn't only a matter of Db's.

I really enjoyed the gig. I worried a bit about Mr. Ranken though. He looked as if he had trouble catching breath.

I think that is a lot of crap...The sound was good. I do not know if the band like the size of the stage und the closeness to the crowd, but I liked it very much and so did the other I talked to after the gig. You always find somebody woh have something to complain. I would have liked to hear some more songs, but maybe next time in Paris.
I think it was a great gig and I loved it. Please keep comin back to Germany...obviously The Pogues still have a lot of fans here and can sell a couple of thousand tickets per gig.

What exactly do you think is crap? I love the Pogues to but I am still able to see things in a realistic perspective. The sound was, at least at the point where I stood, not good. It is always a bit funny to see the reactions on a fan forum of a band when someone pointed out a certain critical note......

But you put your position, a member of the band did you the courtesy of offering an explanation, which you chose to only partially accept. Some people who were there agree with you, some don't, it's as simple as that.
