Hopefully Terry is warming up his vocals for Paris 8) It's the song i've missed most from recent tours.

Philip, any chance you you and the guys could do the extended, dub-reggae version for the DVD. Go on, get Terry, Daryl and James to jam with you like back in the day..........http://youtu.be/zncOxDaQrgo 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Dub? Reggae? You do know we just play Irish folk music don't you? 8)

I wonder if there might be a Clash number thrown in at Strummer of Love ?
Straight to Hell cant come soon enough for me, sorry to hear about you're vocal problem Mr C, hope you're up to it on the 18th

Here http://www.ad.nl/ad/nl/1002/Showbizz/article/detail/3299961/2012/08/12/De-aanblik-van-Shane-McGowan-doet-iedereen-pijn.dhtml is a article from dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, and the article was placed on their website.

It is about the performance at the Strummer festival, and somewhere in the article was written that Shane has said in the english press, that the Pogues are quitting, because he has argument with some bandmembers.

Hope it is not true that this article says, but maybe mr Chevron could say if it is true.

Article is in dutch, but I have translated it with a language machine :

Of all almost 450 bands and artists who this week on Szigetfestival occur, Shane McGowan (54), singer of the legendary folk band The Pogues, with distance the most pitiful.

The man represents everything that can go wrong with a rock star, who cannot handle the wealth of Fame and himself in drink, many drink loses, perhaps a little drug and that afgeblust again with wagon loads beverage.

The man had no more tooth in his mouth for many years, but it now seems really on that he also has lost a part of his tongue. The "Lullaby Of London" sounded more like a ' Wuwwaby Or Wondon '.

McGowan runs across the stage, stumbling, then again to lean on a microphone stand, which really should keep him on the leg. The faster songs are instrumental finished, after which the singer again a song may do if the pace is slow enough.

Agony you wonder why he again a few years ago with his old band sizes the stage is moved and why they have admitted. Despite the fine musicians on the stage is the sight of The Pogues with this singer a torture gang for the singer, the band and also the thousands of people who have taken the trouble to come take a look there, although many will have done that with the question: ' does he still can it? '.

Unfortunately, the answer was no. We saw spectators with a lump in the throat a tear, while no longer the wegpinken McGowan spent cigarette between his fingers and a half beer glass feels undiluted gin away.

McGowan already In the English press announced last week to the end of The Pogues, he would quarrel with some band members have. This action therefore had all the characteristics of a swan song.

I hope that the Pgues will exist for many years to come

I havn't heard anything about them breaking up in the english press :P

I've seen videos of the August shows and I can't help but disagree with this article. of course Macgowan will not be as good as he once was, but he looked like he was in great form for the stockton shows.

I have seen mr MacGowan in Cologne, and he looks great, also the other boys .

I could also nothing find online about a break up, but I saw this item, and would place it here, because someone knows something about the last line.

I think it is just false news from this journalist.

I am looking forward to the new live dvd and cd.

Saw the Pogues last night in Colmar, what a disappointment! The lead singer was a bloated white drunken whale clamping on to the microphone stand to stay upright. He couldn't articulate a single word and his singing (drunken blathering) was terrible. They started late and he kept disappearing back stage and reappearing with another drink. No amount of manic banjo, accordian or tin whistle playing could cover up the pathetic drunken spectacle. He needs to dry out or give up music. What a rip off to pay for such a lack of professionalism. Shameful!

Put him in a rhinestone-studded white jumpsuit and he can make a living doing late-career Elvis impersonations.

Hm, everyone has his own opinion.

Look, what i found via eventim from the Hamburg-Gig:

Schade !

Translated via google it looks something like this:

It was horrible. It was horrible. The shame was twice as high, Shane MacGowan, the legend of the Irish punk, totally drunk or under influence of drugs to experience. Completely disoriented, the text hangers, mumble micro, chain-smoking, after the third song just get away ..... Really, it was horrible to watch how this man apparently still controlled foreign performances must complete, at which he is physically and mentally no longer able. As POGUES fan you should not support more and better to listen to CDs. Mood came on the first place. There were many fans who were as horrified as we are. We have traveled 400 km in order to enjoy a beautiful evening, Irish, were taken on a lot, but that was just terrible to witness the dismantling of a man ...... Too bad!

As i said: everyone his opinion.
I enjoed the gig, and i will support the next one, if it ever happens in my reach ;)
