im pretty sure setlist was same as hamburg .
all i know is i had one of the best nights of my life ,i was down the front for the whole set ,i was determined not to lose my place ,
everything was perfect shane sounded great the band were on top form as always .the weather behaved .
festival itself was the most friendly i`ve ever been to the setting in the blackdown hills was stunning ,just wish they had more festivals there.
nice to meet mr rumsodomyandthelash hope you got out ok m8 ,did you make it down the front?
met some top people old and young who were there just too see the pogues and were looking forward to going too more gigs .
great festival ,great location.great people, great time. great weather (apart from the friday}
most of all thanx to strummerville for putting it on shame its a one off but we all know why,
joe would have approved of the effort that went into making this happen.
not very good at reviews as u can see ,but hope you get the jist of things.
fingers crossed for dec

Just back from Strummer of Love, had an absolute ball. really nice laid back festival, nice to meet you too Fermenter, not to bad getting out in the end managed to drive out without a tow. i stood central about 8 people back ( very tame crowd as is often the way at festivals )
This gig was special in many ways, because of the occasion, because it was a chance to see the Pogues in a stunning location in as intimate a setting as you're going to find them at a festival and because from Frank Turner on the friday at 1.00 pm (acoustic set to no more than 500 people ) to Justice Tonight who closed the festival last night the music on offer was amazing.
Alabama 3, Reverend and the makers , the Jim Jones Revue, the men they couldn't hang,Seasick Steve (was so so so good )Emmy the Great, an amazing DJ set from Basement Jax, followed by an even better Don Letts set were all big big highlights for me, But as ever it was the mighty Pogues who stole the show, biggest crowd of the weekend ( id estimate 2000 ) were treated to a stunning set that only lacked Thousands .
Sean Macgowan for those that are wondering is a 19 year old singer songwriter who i caught on the camp fire stage on the Thursday night, i really enjoyed his stuff, clever lyrics.
And yes Fermenter, fingers crossed for Xmas.

Kitty Finner set was a great susprise. As well as her great vocal she had an all stars band that included 3 Pogues {Jem , Andrew & Daryl} and somtimes Pogues brass section /M. Figs members.
Good to hear Terry take up the vocal spot when Shane had issues with his mic. during the Pogues set.
Sadly I got down late Friday & missed TMTCH and Billy Bragg as a result by minutes.
Enjoyed Keith Allen "Fit Les " ,Dreadzones laid back set and Seastick Steve amongest others.

I thought Terry had given up lead vocals on doctors orders. Thought I heard Shane say something along the lines of sic"..I"ll give you back to Spider ..this mic is fucked.."Before Terry took up the lead vocal. That a side I really enjoyed Terrys vocal. Sorry if I gave wrong impression.
