From Slapshot, one of the all time great quotes about journalism-Coach Ned Braden (Paul Newman) after reading the story in the paper that he planted with a journalist "Dickie Dunn wrote this, it must be true!!"

Maybe you can hook up with VillaJohn. He's seen The Pogues a ton of times and can likely share his remembrances with you.

Some people are never fucking happy

They're coming to your side of the world you idiot. Make the effort to get accross the country to see them. They are bound to play the centres of population that will give the highest return on the effort and cost to get all the band, crew and equipment half way around the earth and back home.

Plus it does say more dates may be announced (maybe in the same venues though  )

Ecstatic to see the Pogues are coming to Melbourne......devastated to see they're playing at Festival Hall, aka the worst concert venue in the world.
My dear Pogues please reschedule to a new venue!!!! Festival Hall is a dump with shit acoustics

We're likely to add Perth, if that's any help. Otherwise, sorry Greater Koolagonga's not on the list.

Indeed! Many of us Canadians risk full body cavity searches to cthe border into the US every time the Pogues play, and we're just thrilled 'cause at least they're on our continent. You're, what, compaining about having to drive accross the desert? Those drag queens in that movie did it in a dodgy bus. Those escaped aboriginal kids in that other movie did it on foot! C'mon, get the crew together, get the best running car, and have an epic road trip. Hell, film it & put it on the youtube, we'll all watch & applaud you.

Well, you could be smuggling in some Tim Horton donuts (loved the hockey player, hate the sin/er donuts) or some Canadien bacon-that could be catastrophic to the US.

Dear, Dzm,thanks for the mention, whoever you are,i would dearly love to see The Pogues in Australia, but i'm unable to fly long distance because of a medical condition, ask anyone connected with The Pogues, they are all too familiar with my medical history. One other thing,i am not connected with Not so Fatboy slim,or whatever he was called.I am aware you have published similar remarks regarding me and other Medusans,i AM not ,nor ever have been Kitkat Kev,he does exsist,i met him in Sheffield last December. So,sir, less of the wise cracks, you're good, but not that good.Keep eating those doughnuts!
