How come the Aussie Border Control allows Gasheads into their Country? Before anyone else asks, 'Gashead' is a nickname given to fans of Bristol Rovers F.C. who are currently residing in League Two in the English league, the Fourth Division really and long may they continue to stay there!Have fun at The Pogues , Harry and everyone else too.

Hi Everyone,
I think my 10 year old son is the youngest Pogues fan in Australia. How convenient they are playing in Sydney during the school holidays - PERFECT!

Michelle, my 2 year old asks to watch to the Pogues - Poguevision DVD whenever i tell him he can't watch TV. It's always his rebuttal, as i think the concession prize is seeing me dance around like an idiot, as compared to someone doing that on playschool. Nonetheless he wont be coming to the concert, maybe one day he will be considered a fan though.

I am full of jealous Jennylois! Have a fantastic time!!!! How many will you see? Shows, that is...not Pogues. I assume you will see 8 Pogues.
Only one show unfortunately. And yes I hope I will see all 8 Pogues

Hey, I consider your son a fan!
My other 2 kids have no taste in music & take every opportunity to run down the Pogues.
Just as an aside - this will be my sons first concert. Does anyone think he should wear ear plugs to reduce the chance of hearing damage or will ear plugs ruin his night?

Are these shows outdoors? I wouldn't worry if it was. Indoors, it depends on the venue, the band, your location... i suspect a pogues show shouldn't blow the eardrums out, having been to two indoors.

I reckon at a Pogues show he should be ok, unless you're too close to the amps. If you decide he does need the plugs, then if they're proper earplugs they shouldn't actually affect his enjoyment too much (I tend to have to wear them at loud gigs these days having done too much damage to my hearing over the years). And you can tell him that all the cool people wear them. Like, erm, the security guys.

Thanks for the advice on the ear plugs. I guess he could always just put his fingers in his ears (but he's not holding my hand after!)
He's getting very excited (& so is his mum).

I would bring some in my pocket just in case and extras as kids tend to lose them. My kids have never used them at a Pogues show however (all indoor) and they have seen The Pogues 4 times. They did need them at the Justin Bieber concert and I did as well because the preteen girls have a knack for high pitch screaming that did way more damage than any amplifier ever managed to.

So Happy to hear the band is playing Japan! I had the pleasure of seeing you guys in Champaign last year. Can't wait to see you play again in the Midwest!

Is there any chance of a band Meet and Greet after the Tokyo show? I've been following the Pogues since they played once with the Cheiftans in London in 1991, so this will almost my 20th anniversary of first seeing them live.

I just found out that you are FINALLY coming to Australia! you probably wouldnt remember but i posted on here back in 2006 that i went to see a concert in NYC and ended up being drugged, missing the concert, and waking up in a hospital on a drip with no recollection of the night. You said to get in touch if you were in my neck of the woods so here i am! still a huge fan and psyched to see you in Sydney!
Cheers
Alice Winn-Dix
Alice, please remind me again - preferably over in the OZ 2012 thread - at the start of April and I'll be happy to arrange this for you and a companion.
Phil that would be AMAZING!
