I'm glad to hear it!
Don't misunderstand me by the way. I wasn't looking to dig up dirt on Shane. It seemed important that his singing could be affected by this and people should for that reason know it, instead of assuming it was down to alcohol whenever he was not singing so clearly.
I hope he gets back into a shape when his unique voice gives him the attention he deserves for all the right reasons.

Just left him at the luggage carousel at Dublin Airport a couple of hours ago and, like me, he was still buzzing about how well the tour went.
"Shane, we'll always have Zagreb"
philipchevron wrote:But it wouldn't make the slightest different if he was simultaneously suffering from half-a-dozen life-threatening illnesses - they'd still say he was drunk.

Mr. Chevron, you do us, the Zagreb audience, great honour with this, I hope you realize that. As long as this is about the show, and not some night on the town you had with some pretty girls from Zagreb![]()
So, how about recording a live dvd when you return next year? We promise to be even louder, and in return you can play Fairytale for us, ok?

I've seen the Pogues in Amsterdam and in my opinion it was a very intense gig wiht a lot of power, especially by the first two songs. I love it.
But sorry, I can't understand, why everybody say, Shane is/was in great shape...
What is "in great shape" in your opinion??
He is an ill man wiht pathological moves, his voice is fucked up and every two oder three songs, he need a break....
Yes, he ist not fallen down, and he is not so drunk than 1995 in pinkpop festival, of course...
But in great shape?
Look at Iggy Pop, for example, HE is in great shape!![]()
Best regards!
Hallo Andreas, hello to all the others. Please forgive me, when I answer to Andres in German, but my english is not good enough to explain, what I write in German now:
Hai Andreas,
Bud
Thanks for The explanation Bud. I reviewed the show on my website in Bonn - http://3songsbonn.com/2011/07/09/the-po ... -everyday/
I was surprised how highly the show was rated by fans on this forum but your explanation has helped me understand. Someone at the concert asked me if Shane had had a stroke (Schlaganfall). Where did you hear this? The General Anzeiger Newspaper said it – but I never saw it anywhere else. I have to say I admire you Pogues fans for sticking by Shane
And, as I mention in my review, I hope he appreciates it too.
