I think personally that we all must be happy to see Shane with the other Pogues members performing again.

What the lifestyle of the persons were, If they drink a lot or what else, that is not something our busines.

The most important thing is that we still can enjoy the music of Shane and the other guys and their stage power, and that we must not going to speculate about a stroke? or their health or other stupid things to speculate about, because I think that than maybe a rumour arrives that is going to take his own way.

So let's we all hope that the guys soon will be returning our stages, and that they now after their last gig of their tour will enjoying their vacations.

A lot of thanks to all the Pogues guys, for the pleasure they gave me on stage and thru their music.

For me it's a way of living.

Thanks for the pleasure always.

Kind regards,

Raymond

I'm glad to hear it!
Don't misunderstand me by the way. I wasn't looking to dig up dirt on Shane. It seemed important that his singing could be affected by this and people should for that reason know it, instead of assuming it was down to alcohol whenever he was not singing so clearly.

I hope he gets back into a shape when his unique voice gives him the attention he deserves for all the right reasons.

But it wouldn't make the slightest different if he was simultaneously suffering from half-a-dozen life-threatening illnesses - they'd still say he was drunk.

Just left him at the luggage carousel at Dublin Airport a couple of hours ago and, like me, he was still buzzing about how well the tour went.

Mr. Chevron, you do us, the Zagreb audience, great honour with this, I hope you realize that. As long as this is about the show, and not some night on the town you had with some pretty girls from Zagreb

So, how about recording a live dvd when you return next year? We promise to be even louder, and in return you can play Fairytale for us, ok?

That's exactly the point.
I think, he suffers from various succession illnesses, becaus of the drugs abuse for years. Some pathological movements, small steps, and others. In Germany we say "Ataxie". And in such a way, for the most people it looks like that he is drunk.

A DVD named: "The Pogues - Live in Zagreb".... That sounds pretty cool..... 8) . I´ll gonna be a part of it, when it becomes true. The Pogues won a lot of new friends on this tour. All together, we gonna fill up a stadium.
 Now I have an new "mantra", when I go to sleep. C´mon, join in:
"Pogues live in Zagreb...Pogues live in Zagreb...Pogues live in Zagreb..."

Dear Mr. Chevron,

thank you very much for the clarification. I hope, the theory didn´t cause any trouble. If it did so, please excuse me. For me, this chapter is closed.

I want to thank all of you for the brilliant show in Bonn – we enjoyed this amazing evening very much. When I read the posts of other concert-visitors or see the videos on youtube, than it seems to me, that all of us had a perfect day. And, if I´ve interpreted your posts right, you also had a good time on the stages

So, when all of you go on some holidays now – you really deserve them..

Hopefully, you´ve enjoyed us a much as we did enjoy your concerts. That will be a good base to enjoy one another again in the future.

With kind regards from Germany,

Bud Wayzer

P.S.: My English is oK? I feel like a schoolboy at his first English-test....

I've seen the Pogues in Amsterdam and in my opinion it was a very intense gig wiht a lot of power, especially by the first two songs. I love it.

But sorry, I can't understand, why everybody say, Shane is/was in great shape...
What is "in great shape" in your opinion??
He is an ill man wiht pathological moves, his voice is fucked up and every two oder three songs, he need a break....
Yes, he ist not fallen down, and he is not so drunk than 1995 in pinkpop festival, of course...

But in great shape?
Look at Iggy Pop, for example, HE is in great shape!

Best regards!

Hallo Andreas, hello to all the others. Please forgive me, when I answer to Andres in German, but my english is not good enough to explain, what I write in German now:

Hai Andreas,

Bud

Thanks for The explanation Bud. I reviewed the show on my website in Bonn - http://3songsbonn.com/2011/07/09/the-po ... -everyday/

I was surprised how highly the show was rated by fans on this forum but your explanation has helped me understand. Someone at the concert asked me if Shane had had a stroke (Schlaganfall). Where did you hear this? The General Anzeiger Newspaper said it – but I never saw it anywhere else. I have to say I admire you Pogues fans for sticking by Shane
And, as I mention in my review, I hope he appreciates it too.

Hello Johnno,

I just had a look at your "Bonn Show-Review. I did not read now completly, but your pictures and animation is well done.
A big compliment for your headline: "Men you don´t meet every day" - a brilliant idea. :D
When I´ve studied your article more intensitive, I´ll write some more.

Greetings,
Bud

Alternatively, we could carry on as usual and you could stop coming to see us?
